OAS Mission Moment!

Another reminder what OAS & the Ski For All is all about!

“Learning how to cross-country ski with OAS has been transformational! Entry barriers to a person from an area where winter sports don’t exist are formidable: cost, new equipment, even knowing how to begin learning is daunting. Now add in the entry barriers to a person with a disability and it’s truly overwhelming. You’ve overcome them all. I love skiing because it reminds me who I was before my accident: the freedom, measurable goals, the choices of how to approach each new challenge. I also love skiing because it helps me see who I can be despite my age and physical challenges: I can still learn new and difficult skills, I can reclaim physical skills I thought were gone, I can get better. Thank you so very, very much.” ~ OAS Athlete Duane Schmidt
