Rafting the Rapids of Women’s Health

From exploring how to boost your health with functional medicine to how to streamline every day with Feng Shui, ConnectW’s fall programs are all about enhancing life and work.

On October 19, Lifestyle Medicine of Central Oregon PC’s Dr. Mary Huntsman presents Rafting the Rapids of Women’s Health. Common women’s health conditions can bring about some turbulence and an immediate call to action, but they can also be early symptoms of bigger, underlying concerns that may not fully show up until much farther downstream.

By taking action “upstream,” problems such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer can be decreased. This program won’t be about pap smears and mammograms, but rather will offer information and tools for women to understand hormones, inflammation and women’s health in a more holistic, proactive way.

From functional medicine, ConnectW turns to functional work and life. On November 16, Kathy Neal—a Feng Shui Specialist with a staging company who is also a real estate broker—presents Getting Unstuck: Using Feng Shui to Streamline your Life and Work.
“Simple changes in your surroundings make an amazing difference on the job and at home,” Kathy says. Do you know that:
·       Every cell in the body responds to color.
·       Changing your table shape can change how your kids get along.
·       Why a red door is good luck (especially for business).
·       Why clutter makes you sick—or at least scattered and cranky.
·       Modern science proves that Feng Shui works.
Learn how these ancient cures can make magic happen in your spaces.

Of course, the ten monthly programs all start with an hour of networking. But you can also connect with ConnectW’s membership during the holiday party. For the past few years, ConnectW has focused on raising visibility and money for one Central Oregon nonprofit each year.

They are giving local nonprofits—including Bethlehem Inn, Grandma’s House, St Charles Survivorship and MountainStar Family Relief Nursery—the chance to showcase at no charge at meetings rather than featuring a single nonprofit in December. So the holiday party (on December 9 at St. Charles) returns to what ConnectW does best—networking and having a great time. What better time to figure out if this organization is a good fit for you?

For more information about the programs and the holiday party, as well as networking ConnectW style, contact ConnectW Marketing Chair Janice Silva at marketing@connectw.org or 541-706-1684, www.connectw.org or come visit in person.

ConnectW meets at 5pm. on the third Wednesday of the month at the Bend Golf & Country Club. Tickets are available on the website. You can attend twice without being a member, but ConnectW is pretty sure you’ll want to join. After all, where else are you going to find such a mix of business opportunities, networking, friendship and fun?
