Go Clean Energy Conference Showcases Oregon Electrification Incentives

350Deschutes, a nonprofit organization, will host the 11th annual Go Clean Energy Conference at Central Oregon Community College. The conference, which features 25 speakers, will help people jump-start their plan for cost savings in clean energy, transportation and green building.

Three keynote thought leaders will speak on environmental as well as energy issues.  Margi Hoffman, of the Northwest Conservation Council, will discuss the Oregon Power plan and what it means for everyone, including fish and wildlife. Sharon Udasin, author of Poisoning the well, how PFAS contaminated America, will help participants understand water quality. Sharon Megdal, an award-winning director of water resources, will discuss Water Diplomacy in Times of Scarcity.

Other experts will help you discover opportunities and solutions in green building, heat pumps, solar, clean energy, efficiency, sustainability, EV charging and electric vehicles. For individuals, businesses, builder-developers and government. Whether you own a home, building, or mobile home, there are options and existing incentives for you. Even nonprofit organizations, schools and faith communities have options. Two Program Tracks will engage both individuals, as well as government and commercial building owners. Owners can now qualify for grants to help pay project costs as many move to meet Oregon’s Required Benchmarking Performance standards for efficiency. A key focus will be on the heat pump, a new technology that is a financial and health game-changer for heating and cooling of spaces and water. Speakers will advise on some of the choices available, as well as cash incentives. Low- to moderate-income individuals have the most significant incentives, amounting to several thousand dollars in some cases.  Presenters will also address solar incentives that can help to pay for solar, as well as reduce monthly bills. Financial options are available. Discover CPACE, Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy, a pivotal finance tool now available to help lower the cost of capital for clean energy projects. Not to be missed is a session on electric Vehicles and EV Charging. Jim Burness of National Car Charging will discuss why EV’s have achieved momentum, and will continue to provide optimal returns in fleet and home use. Pacific Gas & Electric discusses their EV to Everything pilot project, which describes how you can use your electric vehicle as a battery! 350Deschutes and Pacific Power will discuss incentives to pay for fleet and home chargers. Also not to be missed is a session with Rooted Homes who will describe how they’ve discovered the secret of building an affordable three-bedroom electric home that has a $20 energy bill, all in. Attendees will learn how clean energy unlocks the best energy savings for all buildings and transportation needs.
