Search high and low in Bend and you’re not apt to find a more friendly, welcoming destination for handmade organic bagels, muffins, scones, breakfast sandwiches and a full spectrum of hot and cold drinks than Haven Bagel and Coffee, and now they’ve just opened a second sunny location over at 521 SW Century Dr. on the town’s westside near the OSU-Cascades campus.

Back in 2024, proprietors Toni and Elijah Myers first took their considerable restaurant experience as former owners of Croutons to their original Haven venture on the corner of Reed Market Rd. and 27th St. where it’s become a popular gathering spot. This fresh additional enterprise on Century recently hosted their grand opening on July 31 and it’s another inviting oasis featuring all of the food and drink offerings you’ve come to love at their Reed South store.

“We started our restaurant career right here on Century Drive in 2007,” Elijah tells CBN. “So when we launched our test run for Haven we did it at Northwest Crossing’s Farmer’s Market and built up a big clientele there and we’ve always had a heart for this side of town.”

The response for the first Haven Bagel and Coffee has been amazing and Toni notes that customers have been so cool and supportive and that includes an abundance of regulars.

“We have a lot of people that come from the westside, and I would say that’s probably a little bit where the west side was born over here on Century,” Toni explains. “People saying, ‘Come over, when are you going to be here on the other side.’”

The new modern glass and brick-red building is the perfect size for a warm, comfortable restaurant serving up healthy breakfast and lunch fare by their smiling professional staff.

“We’d just been on the hunt and we’ve got good people that we work with that care about us and our product,” Elijah adds. “We saw this place just empty; it was supposed to be a restaurant. Our landlord is amazing and we’ve had a lot of support on this side for this project.”

Just like the Reed South outlet, Westside Haven uses all organic flour, organic eggs, and organic sugar, and try to keep pricing low and affordable and make hospitality a thing again.

“People want to find value in what they’re putting in their bodies, at the places they’re visiting they want to feel appreciated,” he notes. “And if you don’t hit on some of those things, your base is going to suffer. We want to be a part of the community in giving people real value, from what they’re consuming to the faces that greet them at this business. We treat our staff like family.  Some of them have been working with us for over a decade back since Croutons.”

Haven currently has 15 flavors of bagels and provides gluten-free items where they can, in addition to chocolate chip cookies, blueberry muffins, pumpkin bread and banana bread.

“Our Sunday Roll is kind of our signature little pastry croissant and we’re trying to increase our pastries to have a little more variety,” says Toni. “The most rewarding part of the business has been the people and the relationships that have been built. That’s been so special, to see people use this space to meet with family, to do studies, or to simply come in and hang out. I absolutely love it. It just feels like such a blessing to me.”

The brand new Haven Bagel and Coffee is open daily from 6:30am to 1:30pm and is located at 521 SW Century Dr. in Bend. Seating is available both inside and on their bright outdoor patio.
