Sponsored by Mid Oregon Credit Union, admission to the High Desert Museum is free for guests on February 20.
Mid Oregon Free Family Saturday is a special time to enjoy amazing wildlife, artful exhibits and colorful history at the Museum – at no cost. Families are invited to enjoy and experience this iconic Central Oregon museum.
“On Free Day, we offer wildlife talks throughout the day, hands-on activities for kids and opportunities to meet several of our living history characters,” said Dr. Dana Whitelaw, executive director of the Museum. “This is a fun and very busy day for us. Mid Oregon Credit Union’s generous support of Family Free Saturdays provides the community an opportunity to explore programs and engage with exhibits like Rain, Snow or Shine or Farmers, Builders, Warriors: The Hidden Life of Ants which opened January 23.”
Farmers, Warriors, Builders: The Hidden Life of Ants, featuring the photographs of Mark W. Moffett, is organized by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History and circulated by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES).
The Museum is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, including the Rimrock Café and Silver Sage Trading. NOTE: Parking at the Museum is limited. A free shuttle, sponsored by Abilitree, runs from the Morning Star Christian School parking lot, to the Museum and back all day. The school is located off Highway 97, exit 143, just south of the Riverwoods Country Store.
