Hoodoo Ski Area to Open Thursday with Deepest Base since 2001

Hoodoo Ski Area will open Thursday, December 15, with a base of approximately 61 inches, the deepest mid-December base since the 2001-02 ski season. An additional 6-12 inches of snow are predicted in the current forecast through Thursday evening. Hoodoo has received 91.4 inches of cumulative snowfall since October 1.

“We are excited about the great beginning of this new snow season. Currently our base is around five feet, which is over a foot higher than the base has been at this time of the season during the last decade,” said Chuck Shepard, Hoodoo’s owner.

Extended Winter Break  hours December 15 – January 2
Hoodoo will be open 9am – 4pm every day from December 15 – January 2 for Winter Break. As the only ski resort in Central Oregon to offer night skiing, Hoodoo will have select lifts and runs open every evening from 3:30-9pm.from December 16-31, except December 18 and 24-25.

Hoodoo will resume its regular Thursday – Monday schedule on Thursday, December 15, with night skiing available only on Friday and Saturday evenings from 3:30-9.m. Hoodoo will also open every day from March 23 – April 2 for Spring Break.

Hoodoo’s New Year’s Eve Party features Oregon’s largest on-mountain fireworks show

On Dec. 31, Hoodoo will host its annual New Year’s Eve Party, presented by Pepsi. Events include live music in the lodge until midnight, a patio fire, Traeger-smoked barbecue on the deck, and the largest on-mountain fireworks show in Oregon shortly after 9pm.

Hoodoo’s Autobahn Tubing Park to Open Saturday

Hoodoo’s popular Autobahn Tubing Park will open for the first time this season on Saturday, December 17.

The Autobahn, which includes multiple 800+ foot groomed runs and an automated cable tube tow, will remain open daily through Monday, January 2, from 10am–4pm.
