Medicine Within, co-founded by the husband and wife team, Dr. Derek Andre and Dr. Emma Andre, are excited to announce the launch of their transformative mental health practice for patients throughout Oregon.
With deep roots in the philosophies of functional, mind-body, and natural medicine, their practice offers personalized holistic mental health services along with ketamine therapy to help people experience fast relief, lasting results, and personal growth.
When tasked to heal after four earth-shattering episodes of trauma and loss — all within a four-year span — the couple experienced firsthand the transformative power of psychedelic medicine. “Psychedelic medicine gave me hope and clarity around what is possible again after significant loss. It allowed me to feel joy again. The medicine also stopped time and gave me an embodied experience of the lesson that ‘this too shall pass.’” Shared co-founder, Dr. Emma Andre when asked about how psychedelic medicine helped her during the most difficult point in her life.
The importance of prioritizing mental health was also reinforced to the doctors after witnessing the impact of anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and suicide on their own family members, friends, and patients. They observed that for those who are struggling, conventional talk therapy and prescription medications alone often fall short of providing satisfactory results. These experiences inspired them to create Medicine Within to complement and enhance mental health treatments and help both patients and practitioners achieve better outcomes.
Dr. Derek Andre explained, “Medicine Within is the culmination of our 32 years of combined experience in the healthcare industry. Both personally and professionally we have learned so much about how mental health affects every aspect of our life from our body to our relationships and so on. Our purpose in this practice is to empower others to heal and feel resourced enough to create the experience of life they desire.”
