BendBroadband’s Jazz at the Oxford popular jazz series kicks of 2016 with the unmistakable sounds of the New Orleans jazz scene courtesy of Reggie Houston’s Crescent City Connection featuring Charmaine Neville. All shows are sold out.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the support of the greater Bend community and our sponsors. Bend loves jazz and our acts have been warmly received, with back to back sold out weekends. We are on a record setting pace,” said Ben Perle, regional vice-president of operations for Oxford Corporate. “This is the first time we have explored New Orleans jazz and we are expecting a very energetic, fun show from Reggie and Charmaine.”

Reggie Houston is a legend on the jazz scene where his considerable talent as a saxophonist has been in high demand for decades. Beginning at the age of 12, Reggie began honing his skills with the Batiste family’s pioneering funk band The Gladiators. Since then, he has been performing with Charmaine, Etta James, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, Peter Gabriel, and Fats Domino—a 22-year gig spanning the globe.

As the daughter of one of the highly acclaimed Neville Brothers (Charles), Charmaine Neville is heir to a rich New Orleans musical legacy while putting her own stamp on her musical heritage. She started out backing up the Neville Brothers and went on to perform with The Survivors, a band whose alumni list includes Harry Connick Jr. and Bobby McFerrin. Described as a crowd magnet, Charmaine is characterized as a frisky dynamo, versatile, vivacious, and technically impressive. Her talent for comedy, combined with her spontaneity and her considerable vocal range all make for a spectacular, energetic, and riveting performance. She is truly an artist extraordinaire.

Tickets are $48 plus fees. All shows are sold out. Show times are:
• Friday, January 22 8:00 pm
