Portland-based Jenny Don’t and the Spurs will bring their high-energy blend of Western, garage rock and country to Discovery West as the headlining act for the second annual Discovery West PorchFest, Saturday, September 12 from 4-9pm in Bend.
The acclaimed Pacific Northwest band will cap off an afternoon of live music with a finale performance at Discovery Corner, the neighborhood’s community gathering place. Known for their energetic live shows and distinctive take on Western music, Jenny Don’t and the Spurs have built an enthusiastic following at home and abroad, touring extensively throughout the U.S., Europe and beyond.
PorchFest returns to Discovery West for its second year, transforming streets and gathering spaces throughout the neighborhood into intimate outdoor stages. The free community event invites attendees to stroll through Discovery West while enjoying an eclectic lineup of local and regional musicians.
“We loved seeing people walking from stage to stage last year, discovering new artists and enjoying the neighborhood in a completely different way,” said Valerie Yost, Director of Marketing for Discovery West. “Having Jenny Don’t and the Spurs close out this year’s event at Discovery Corner is going to make for a fantastic finale.”
This year’s festival will feature three stages located throughout Discovery West, with performances spanning a variety of musical styles and genres. Guests are encouraged to walk or bike between stages, bring friends and neighbors, and make an afternoon of exploring the music and neighborhood. A toe-tappin’ tour of open houses will also be available from 4-6pm.
A variety of food and drink options, along with family-friendly activities, will be available at Discovery Corner, where the festivities culminate with a 7:30pm performance by Jenny Don’t and the Spurs.
