From the mythology of our ancestors to backyard cookouts, fire has always played a central role in civilization. As a tool, as a destructive force and as a means of creation fire has forged who we are and where we live. Know Fire this August during a series of programs that includes presentations by Central Oregon’s own bar-b-que expert, a survivor of the Storm King Mountain fire, a forest service geologist, a humanities scholar and a local fire prevention organization. It’s going to be hot! All programs are free and open to the public.
