Kôr Community Land Trust Hiring Outreach Coordinator

Kôr Community Land Trust is a grassroots nonprofit organization that provides environmentally sustainable and permanently affordable homeownership opportunities for those who contribute to the fabric of the Central Oregon economy and community. Kôr Community Land Trust is seeking a part-time Outreach Coordinator from July 2021-January 2022. The coordinator would be responsible for connecting with key Kôr constituencies, including prospective homebuyers of Kôr’s next community, Crescita. The Coordinator will implement outreach strategies intended to best serve marginalized communities that have been systemically excluded from the opportunity and benefits of homeownership. Kôr believes that these communities must be centered in the work that we do. In turn, Kôr strongly encourages applications from people who are members of marginalized communities.

Specific job duties include:

OUTREACH

  • Helps to develop culturally relevant and language-appropriate materials to inform, educate and support prospective homebuyers
  • Identifies both messaging and methods to best reach individuals, families and communities with information about Kôr’s homeownership opportunities
  • Confers with Kôr partners, such as the Latino Community Association (LCA), NeighborImpact, Housing Works and Council on Aging of Central Oregon, to elicit their advice on and assistance in broadening Kôr’s reach to underserved populations
  • Forges new partnerships with other mission compatible organizations to further Kôr’s outreach
  • Implements strategies to communicate with communities, e.g., posts printed information in strategic community locations, prepares Facebook and Instagram posts, produces content for Kôr’s website, contributes to the Kôr newsletter and sends targeted mailing campaigns
  • Performs translation and interpretation services to ensure robust communications, as needed

HOMEOWNERSHIP INFORMATION, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES

  • Helps to coordinate and run Public Information & Orientation Sessions
  • Conducts follow-up with attendees, as needed

PRESENTATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

  • Staffs the Board’s Outreach Committee
  • Contributes to Kôr’s branding, communications and marketing plan
  • Presents on Kôr to various audiences including other agencies, organizations, civic groups,

supporters and potential volunteers

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

  • Supports the Executive Director of administrative and office tasks to support efficient and effective outreach operations, as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • At least one year of work experience to include outreach or community relations responsibilities
  • Understanding of and experience in using digital technologies to reach a variety of audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated team player who operates with initiative
  • Comfortable with public speaking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with a nonprofit organization
  • Basic understanding of need for and challenges related to the provision of environmentally sustainable and affordable homeownership opportunities
  • Basic knowledge of the home purchasing process
  • Experience with culturally and economically diverse communities
  • Spanish-language fluency
