The Future of Transportation in Bend

Love, neuroscience and the city — it’s all related to transportation, including a dynamic future for Bend’s roads and highways.

Jeff Tumlin, an expert in helping communities balance all modes of transportation in complex places, will share ideas on how it can be done at a Tower Theatre event on Wednesday, September 26 presented by Building a Better Bend and the Move Bend Coalition.

An accomplished TedX presenter, Tumlin has led downtown, citywide, and campus plans and worked in 20 U.S. states and five other countries over the last 20 years. His award-winning major development projects have reduced traffic and CO2 emissions by as much as 40% and accommodated many millions of square feet of growth with no net increase in motor vehicle traffic.

“Jeff is renowned for helping people define what they value and build consensus on challenging projects,” said Lou Capozzi, a member of the Move Bend Coalition. “We’re excited to learn more about how we can work on balancing our city’s growth with Bend’s quality of life and economic development goals.”

Audience questions and comments will play a major role in the event.
