Franklin Avenue Improvements Open House with Hawthorne Connections Study & More
Tuesday, April 7, 4:30-6:30pm
Newberry Hotel, Mt. Bachelor Room
300 NW Franklin Ave.
The City is hosting an open house to share updates on two City transportation projects and hear from you.
Franklin Avenue Improvements
Join the project teams at the open house to learn more about planned improvements and what to expect during construction starting this May.
- From Harriman Street to Fourth Street: The project team will share the final design and construction timing for this stretch of Franklin Avenue.
- From Second Street to the underpass: Utility work on Franklin Avenue is expected to begin in early May*, starting at Second Street and extending west to the underpass. The first phase of work will allow construction crews to make critical waterline and storm drain improvements.
*Please note that the project schedule is subject to change.
Hawthorne Connections Study
At the open house, the project team will also be providing information and seeking feedback on the Hawthorne Connections Study, a separate City project. The study is exploring new walking and biking improvements along Hawthorne Avenue and Harriman Street. This project aims to address gaps in the City’s low‑stress network, which connects to the planned Hawthorne Crossing bike and pedestrian bridge. The project team will show street concepts and learn about your priorities for these improvements.
