Bend, OR While hunger is Central Oregon is no laughing matter, with 16,000 individuals accessing emergency food sites each month, 541 Threads Clothing Company of Bend believes laughter can be beneficial when times are tough. Stand Up Against Hunger, presented by 541 Threads and The Blvd, July 23, 2011 8 pm. at the Tower Theatre will feature an evening of top local comedians, including Randall Knight, Jake Woodmansee, Celeste Franklin, the winner of Central Oregon’s Last Comic Standing, Jim Mortensen, and improv from BIG (Bend Improv Group).

“We love working with NeighborImpact” says Nutter, who is a Bend native. “This will be a great evening of local companies, local comedians benefitting a local charity at a local venue…doesn’t get much better than that,” says Wurtz.

Zack Nutter and Patrick Wurtz, co-founders of 541 Threads have chosen NeighborImpact’s Food Bank to be the beneficiary of both Stand Up Against Hunger and proceeds from their t shirt sales since they launched their business earlier this year. They have a strong connection to their community and believe in giving back. 100% of the proceeds from the evening’s activities, which also features a raffle, will go to benefit NeighborImpact’s Food Bank.

Tickets for the event are on sale at the Tower Theatre’s website:  http://www.towertheatre.org/tickets-and-events/Stand_Up_Against_Hunger.
