Portland, Ore. – The Portland VA Medical Center will show its appreciation to Operations Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn (OEF/OIF/OND) Veterans with their Fifth Annual Welcome Home celebration event.
The free Welcome Home event is Monday, July 4 at Vince Genna Ballpark for all OEF/OIF Veterans and their families. The Bend Elks will play the Corvallis Knights at 7:15pm. Veterans should RSVP to Welcomehome@va.gov or call 800-949-1004, ext. 51920. Tickets are limited to 4 per Veteran.
I admire all of our Veterans and especially our OEF/OIF/OND Veterans and their family members who have given so much for the protection of others,” Victoria Koehler, Portland VA Medical Center OEF/OIF/OND Program Manager said. “We are looking forward to a fun welcome home event and thank our Veterans and their families for their service.”
Veterans attending will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to learn about services, benefits, compensation and pension, eligibility, OIF/OEF specific information and Women Veterans Programs.
After the game, everyone is invited to watch fireworks show from the ball field.
