The Oregon Department of Justice announced a Deschutes River paddle and townhall to increase public awareness of the health of Oregon’s rivers.
Attorney General Kroger will join environmental advocates and other interested parties for an open forum in Riverbend Park to discuss DOJ’s Environmental Crimes Enforcement Unit, the broad effort to restore and maintain Oregon’s waterways, and to exchange ideas and opinions about how communities can come together and do more. Right now, every major river in Oregon fails federal clean water standards.
What: Deschutes River Health public forum. Attorney General John Kroger, DOJ officials, the Deschutes River Conservancy and others will hold a town hall focusing on the significant environmental issues facing the Deschutes River and other Oregon waterways
