Local bands and nonprofits are once again stepping up to help KPOV 88.9 High Desert Community Radio during its fall pledge drive.

The Environmental Center, Jobs with Justice, PFLAG of Central Oregon, Central Oregon Locavore, the Center for Car Donations, the Human Dignity Coalition, the Downtown Bend Business Association, Neighbor Impact, and the Deschutes River Conservancy are all sending volunteers to help support KPOV during this important fundraising effort.

“KPOV couldn’t pull off a pledge drive without the community pitching in to help,” said Board President Rick Miller.  “We’ll have many volunteers here for our fall pledge drive and we really appreciate the outpouring of support from local bands and nonprofits.”

KPOV gives local musicians an important outlet for their music and several bands are coming out to give live performances during the station’s pledge drive.

On Saturday, October 29 starting at 2pm the line up of live bands includes The Prairie Rockets, Rand Berke, Johnny O, Christen Hawkins, and Lauren Kershner.

Listeners who pledge financial support to KPOV during the 10-day pledge drive will be automatically entered into prize drawings, have the opportunity to match contributions, and receive KPOV gifts determined by their funding level.
