The next step in wireless network evolution – 4G LTE offers a faster, more reliable Internet connection and home phone service for more Central Oregon communities

Internet users from Madras to La Pine and Sisters to Prineville can now enjoy faster, more reliable home Internet and full-featured home telephone service with the introduction of BendBroadband’s new 4G LTE wireless network.

Nationally recognized as a leader in the cable industry, BendBroadband has made significant investments to upgrade its HSPA+ wireless network to a state-of-the-art 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) Network. In fact, according to 4G Americas, a Seattle-area company that tracks the global wireless market, BendBroadband is the first commercial operator in Central Oregon to launch 4G LTE.

The launch of BendBroadband’s 4G LTE wireless network is good news for Internet users residing in areas of Central Oregon that are not served by wired broadband connections as well as those served by wired connections that are not capable of delivering true broadband speeds.

Using robust FCC-licensed wireless spectrum, the new 4G LTE network provides excellent wireless signal strength throughout the entire region. Mark Hobbs, BendBroadband’s director of marketing commented, “Our new 4G LTE network enables full utilization of our wireless spectrum resulting in a dramatically improved customer experience. Whether you’re in town or way out on the ranch, customers outside of our wired footprint will have access to reliable broadband with download speeds ranging from 4 to 12 Mbps. Customers can also save money with our home phone service packed with great features like unlimited long-distance calling and free voice mail.”

Construction of the 4G LTE wireless network began in June and since then the network has been subjected to an extensive battery of performance and load tests. “The performance of our 4G LTE network has consistently exceeded our expectations for both speeds and capacity,” commented Eric Anderson, BendBroadband’s director of wireless engineering. “With the push – both internationally and locally — to further develop wireless network features and performance, we’re confident that our new 4G LTE network means BendBroadband will continue to provide superior wireless products for many years to come.”

BendBroadband is currently offering free in-home product demonstrations of the new 4G LTE service for all prospective customers. For more details on the service or to schedule a demonstration at home, customers are encouraged to call 541-388-7700.
