Mt. Bachelor has announced dates and beneficiaries for the annual Charity Week program continuing for the fourth consecutive winter. To date, Mt. Bachelor has generated $241,625 for Central Oregon non-profit organizations through this one-of-a-kind fundraising effort.

Mt. Bachelor is committed to supporting local community non-profit organizations in cash donations through the Charity Weeks program aligned with Mt. Bachelor’s core values with a focus on the environment, kids, and families in need.

This season’s Charity Week partners include The Environmental Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The United Way, MBSEF, Oregon Adaptive Sports, Saving Grace, Sparrow Clubs, along with a returning partner from 2010 with the Boys and Girls Club and new addition CASA of Central Oregon.

Mt. Bachelor provides lift ticket vouchers to non-profit organizations which can be redeemed for a $25 full day lift ticket. Mt. Bachelor contributes 100% of the proceeds back to the non-profit organization. Vouchers are valid midweek, during two week timeframes scheduled for January 2-13, and April 2-13, 2012.

Non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply each year for Mt. Bachelor’s Charity Ski Weeks. Charities are rotated through the program based on ticket voucher redemption rates. New and previous charities can apply for inclusion in the program each summer. Bachelor donated $21,875 to the Bend, La Pine and Redmond schools through Ski for Schools and nearly $120,000 to date.

Mt. Bachelor President and General Manager Dave Rathbun states, “We are very proud of the work local charities do on behalf of our community to make Bend and Central Oregon a better place to live and work for all our residents. Giving back to our community is a long-standing tradition of Mt. Bachelor and we look forward to maximizing our contribution through the Charity Ski Weeks and Ski for Schools programs this winter”.
