CASA Opens Prineville Office

The Prineville CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) office located at 210 NE Third Street is hosting an open house and Ribbon cutting on Thursday, December 1 at 9am. Coffee and pastries will be served.

Judge McCabe, Commissioner Fahlgren and Commissioner Crawford will be recognized for the county’s contribution of the new office space. The County Maintenance Department will also be recognized for their time and effort in helping ready the office along with Phil’s Ace Hardware for their donation of materials and supplies and Lowe’s of Bend for their donation of window coverings.

CASA of Central Oregon has existed in Central Oregon since 1992. The mission of CASA is based on the belief that every child deserves a safe and permanent home. Our goal is to provide every abused and neglected child in foster care a volunteer CASA advocate. Last year in Crook County ten volunteers dedicated over 267 hours to advocate for 70 children in foster care – a value of over $3000. On any given day there are over 30 children in Crook County in need of a volunteer.
