Following the completion of renovations totaling $6 million, The Lodge at Eagle Crest and The Lodge at Running Y Ranch, two Oregon resort properties, will join IHG’s (InterContinental Hotels Group’s) Holiday Inn Resort portfolio in February. The newly upgraded properties will be known as The Lodge at Eagle Crest, a Holiday Inn Resort, and The Lodge at Running Y Ranch, a Holiday Inn Resort.

“We are very excited to join the growing Holiday Inn Resorts portfolio,” said Scott Pickert, senior vice president of Northview Oregon Resorts. “Partnering with the world’s most recognized hotel brand allows us to connect to the industry’s largest distribution systems and welcome the millions of Priority Club Rewards members from around the world. This is a tremendous opportunity for Eagle Crest Resort and Running Y Ranch, as well as our many partners and surrounding businesses and communities.”

Eagle Crest Resort and Running Y Ranch were purchased by Northview Hotel Group in November 2010 and work began immediately to fully transform the lodges at both properties. The 100-guestroom Lodge at Eagle Crest Resort and 82-guestroom Lodge at Running Y Ranch have been fully renovated, including entirely new guestrooms, public areas, and meeting spaces, as well as new restaurants – Aerie Café at Eagle Crest Resort and The Ruddy Duck at Running Y Ranch.

The Oregon resort properties attracted Holiday Inn Resorts with their prime locations and high quality amenities. Eagle Crest Resort, a 1,700 acre high-desert destination resort located outside Redmond, and Running Y Ranch, a 3,600-acre resort overlooking Klamath Lake in the heart of Southern Oregon’s Cascade Range, will be the only Holiday Inn Resorts in the contiguous western U.S. and are a natural fit for the brand’s growth strategy.

“These two resorts are the result of our strategy to grow Holiday Inn Resorts in markets that are convenient for our guests to get to,” said Gina LaBarre, vice president, Brand Management, the Americas, IHG. “By growing our resorts in key leisure destinations across the U.S., we’re giving families the option to take a reasonable drive or a short flight and still have a special vacation.”

Through their addition to the Holiday Inn Resort portfolio, the lodges at Eagle Crest Resort and Running Y Ranch gain an opportunity for increased exposure among leisure travelers, particularly among IHG’s 61 million Priority Club Rewards members.  Members will earn points while staying at the resorts, and can redeem points earned at other IHG hotels for stays at the resorts. Additionally, the brand’s marketing muscle, name recognition and dedicated resources are expected to grow awareness for each property in its respective region.

As the 16th and 17th Holiday Inn Resort properties in the Americas, The Lodge at Eagle Crest and The Lodge at Running Y Ranch provide unique settings and recreational options for vacationers. Situated in two of the country’s premier outdoor recreation areas, the resorts offer on-site activities such as golf, swimming, tennis and volleyball as well as off-site, guided excursions for fly-fishing, white-water rafting, birding, hiking and cycling.
