Ever wonder how the City of Bend budget works? How we fix our streets? What your utility payments go towards or what the police and fire departments are up to? Sign up for the Bend 101 program.
Bend 101 is a mini citizens academy designed to explain what the City does with your tax dollars and why. It’s free and includes presentations on the City’s budget and finances, Public Works Department, Fire and Rescue, Police Department, the Community Development Department and City history.
All classes will be held from 5:30-7:30pm in the City Council Chambers at Bend City Hall, 710 NW Wall St. Dates and topics include:
- · Tuesday, March 13, — A look at Bend’s history from the Deschutes County Historical Society
- · Tuesday, March 20 – Introduction to City Government, The Budget and City Finance
- · Monday, April 2 – Public Safety: Fire & Rescue and the Police Department
- · Tuesday, April 10– The Public Works Department and the Community Development Department
