New 1,200 square foot state-of-the-art R&D / Training Center located in SE Bend
Surface Dynamix, which specializes in surface restoration and protection of transparent materials in the automotive, architectural, and marine and energy markets, completed its move in to a new facility which includes the largest R&D and Training facility of its kind. In addition, office and fulfillment areas have been increased for projected growth.
New Location
Mike Boyle, who just rejoined Surface Dynamix with a fulltime commitment to the company, has been working on the new facility for over two months. “The facility allows us the opportunity for continuous expansion as our business grows. The location has some great history, Breedlove Guitars, famous for their instruments in the hands of the some of the best musicians in the world occupied this space for several years. Its unique design and rural location make it the perfect environment for Surface Dynamix and its customers. In addition we have developed world class, cutting edge training systems for not only our product, but most all other glass repair and restoration systems. That gives technicians the opportunity to cross train on multiple systems if necessary.
Training Center
The 1,200 square foot training center is a first in the industry. Trainees (up to 12) have the opportunity to learn all facets of the repair process. The ROLAGS, BSI, and NZ/AU standards have been used as a blueprint for classroom content. After completing class work, techs work on small samples then graduate to performing the repair process on real life examples. Two vehicles and six work stations are primary components of the training center. When the technicians graduate training, they have will completed over 100 repairs, most on glass installed in vehicles.
The training center also includes the SilverDome inspection center, a 10ft. by 12ft. dome located outside the training center, consumers pull into the SilverDome for glass and lighting inspection. Trainees will get the opportunity to work with real consumers and glass damage.
The facility has state of the art computer and video capabilities as well as an R&D center giving us the ability to learn, communicate, and inform or clients all over the world. Additional product training will be added shortly. A more complete overview can be seen at www.surfacedynamix.com/tc
International Centers
Surface Dynamix will be announcing the opening of a new branch office and training facility in Europe next week. Boyle says “We have consummated an agreement with our partners in Europe. Michael and Margot Van Daelen of the Netherlands have completed training in the states and will be our EU representation. In addition, we will be producing and acquiring some items in Europe to help reduce costs and environmental effects of shipping large packages across the Atlantic. “Locations and training times will be announced in the coming months. Japan is slated for a SDX Training Center in May.
