John W. Mitchell, a well-known Oregon economist and former chief economist for US Bancorp and past chair of the Oregon Governor’s Council on Economic Advisors and Christopher Johns, portfolio manager of the Aquila Tax Free Trust of Oregon, a municipal bond mutual fund that invests in local municipal and state projects, will provide an update on Oregon’s economy, infrastructure and municipal bond projects at the annual outreach meeting of the Tax Free Trust of Oregon.
The locally-managed Oregon municipal bond fund invests primarily in bonds issued by various state and local agencies to finance vital infrastructure needs such as schools, highways, hospitals, and water and sewer facilities in Oregon. Mitchell will discuss the economic outlook for Bend and Oregon, while Johns will discuss the state and local investment outlook and municipal bond market.
