Launches New Business Gateway Website

National Small Business Week is May 20-26.  Did you know your library has resources available to you to help you start and grow your business?  From books to online resources to personal one-on-one help from informational professionals, your library is ready to help you meet and exceed your small business goals.

In honor of this week the library is launching a new Business Gateway (www.deschuteslibrary.org/business).  From here you can access all of the library’s electronic business resources, search the catalog, link to carefully selected free small business web sites and access our Book-a-Librarian program.  Business events sponsored by the library are also listed including the popular SCORE Small Business Counseling sessions.  Visit the page and explore the wide array of resources and services available at your local library.

Since 1963 the Small Business Administration has hosted the National Small Business Week Conference in Washington, DC which focuses on small business accomplishments and the special impact they have on the U.S. economy.  The National Small Business Week serves as the Nation’s salute to entrepreneurial spirit and determination.  For more information and links to free live webcasts during the conference go to http://www.nationalsmallbusinessweek.com.

The Deschutes Public Library, located in the high desert of Central Oregon serves more than 150,000 Deschutes County residents through libraries in Downtown Bend, East Bend, La Pine, Redmond, Sisters, and Sunriver.  The Library’s website provides access to hundreds of resources, magazine articles, downloadable books, from the comfort of home and work.  The Library offers free and dynamic cultural programming for all ages to enrich our daily experience and encourage all residents to Know More.
