Dr. Jackson will be presenting on the environmental impacts on health at the June 21 City Club meeting
Dr. Jackson is a dynamic presenter and author who has a passion for discovering how the ‘built environment,’ including architecture and urban planning, affect health – especially for children. Currently, Dr. Jackson is working on policy analyses of environmental impacts on health including topics such as sustainability, climate change, urban design, transportation policies, education, housing and architecture.
Dr. Jackson co-authored two Island Press Books: Urban Sprawl and Public Health in 2004 and Making Healthy Places in 2011. Dr. Jackson recently appeared on PBS’ Tavis Smiley Show to discuss his latest book, Designing Healthy Communities, and a three-part PBS series Designing Healthy Communities which aired nationwide in January 2012.
