Sunlight Solar Energy Hosts Grand Opening at New Office

Sunlight Solar Energy has moved to a new home in at the Old Ironworks plaza with neighbors including Cement Elegance, Allen Contracting, Sparrow Bakery, Stuart’s of Bend, and The Workhouse, among many others. Grand opening Saturday evening, June 30.

Situated close to downtown and just off the parkway, they are in a prime location for you to stop by and say hi! Who knows, they may even treat to an Ocean Roll the next time you come visit.

To celebrate the opening of their new office, Sunlight Solar is planning a spectacular Grand Opening on the evening of Saturday, June 30th and they want you to come join the celebration.

To kick off the festivities, Award winning GASLAND will be screened at 4:30pm. At a time when we are at a critical juncture in our energy (over) usage, we are faced with many choices on where to get our energy.

“The largest domestic natural gas drilling boom in history has swept across the United States. The celebration will begin at 6pm with appetizers catered by Broken Top Bottle Shop and deserts by Sparrow Bakery. Kombucha Mama kombucha and Boneyard beer will be on tap.

Throughout the evening raffle tickets will be available, with all proceeds going to The Environmental Center to further their mission of embedding sustainability into everyday life.

Prizes will include:

  • A donated Solatube from Solar Light (a $500 value)
  • A donated Home Energy Audit from GreenSavers (a $200 value). The 3-hour Top to Bottom Home Assessment will include:

o       A “crawl through” inspection of insulation in your attic, crawlspace and just about every other nook and cranny where energy sneaks out

o        A blower door test to depressurize your house and bring those hidden air leaks to life

o        A duct blaster test to search for leakage in the duct work of forced-air heating and cooling systems

o       Window and Door assessment

o       A detailed and customized report explaining all of our findings and what you can do to make your home more comfortable and efficient!

With the help of The Environmental Center, this event will be Zero Waste! Sunlight Solar has partnered with past customer, Owen Mitz of Oregon Green Products, to provide the compostable products.

As part of the Old Ironworks Last Saturday event that will simultaneously be taking place, many artists’ work will be on display and their studios open to visitors.

Those who opt for more sustainable methods of transportation such as walking or riding bikes to the Grand Opening will receive a free reusable shopping bag.
