Since 2003, this food basket program has given away 76,000 pounds of food to over 24,000 Central Oregonians in need.

This year’s baskets will include all the trimmings to feed 2,400 people this Christmas. The La Pine Christmas Basket Association will provide the turkeys, while The Riverhouse will provide the potatoes, apple pie, green beans, corn – over 6000 lbs of food with the help of suppliers and donations from Sysco Foods, Diageo Wine, Precept Wine, Big Sky Brewery, and ODOM Southern Distributing.

Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and City of Bend Police Department help assemble the baskets as well as distribute to needy families.

The Riverhouse, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, City of Bend Police and the La Pine Christmas Basket Association will be assembling the holiday food baskets at 10 am on December 21 at the Riverhouse.
