Now in its second year, the Annual Solar Oregon Awards recognize individuals who are striving for a clean energy future in Oregon. Nominations came in from around the state and acknowledged the hard work of many deserving individuals for Solar Oregon’s 2012 Volunteer of the Year, Solar Ambassador of the Year, and Solar Professional of the Year.
Sunlight Solar President and Founder Paul Israel was selected as Solar Oregon’s Solar Professional of the Year. Paul was nominated for his work “as a true solar pioneer.”
Israel oversees over 50 employees in three states and was commended for being “tireless in his own energy towards renewables.” He also sits on the Oregon Solar Energy Industry Association Board of Directors.
At the awards ceremony Israel acknowledged the hard work of Solar Oregon in promoting solar and educating consumers around the state about the benefits of solar: “Recognition, for a job well done, is always appreciated. And there are many people in the Oregon Solar Industry to be commended,” he said.
“For 2013, we are lucky to have such a dedicated industry and – as leaders – we all have a critical and important role to play – to keep our industry strong and growing.”
Sunlight Solar is a locally based solar contractor, installing solar electric and solar thermal systems in Oregon since 1997.
