The Life of a Ballot After It is Cast – Assuring Your Vote Is Counted

What happens to your ballot after you vote and put it in the ballot box or the mail? What process is used for an accurate count? How reliable is the count? How is fraud prevented in any election? Deschutes County Clerk Nancy Blankenship will speak on January 19 regarding the elections just past and will especially share information about the ballot itself. Come with questions of your own!

Nancy Blankenship’s term as clerk began in January 2003 and will end in January 2015. As Deschutes County Clerk, she is the keeper of all public records, chief elections officer, grantor of marriage and antique dealers’ licenses, and also accepts passport applications. Clerk Blankenship has lived in Central Oregon most of her life. She attended schools in Redmond and earned an A.S. Degree in Business Technology/Management at COCC.
