Opportunity Knocks announces the addition of Susie Stevens as the new facilitator relations director. Stevens is the organization’s former executive director and has a fifteen-year association with Opportunity Knocks.

“As the organization has been growing over the last year, we saw a need to improve the team experience for our members,” Brian Shawver, Opportunity Knocks’ board chair said. “Facilitation is such an important element of team success. We saw an opportunity to reengage Susie on a part-time basis to focus on this critical area of the Opportunity Knocks experience. Her history with the organization makes her a perfect fit for this position.”

“The timing is right,” Stevens stated. “This last year has been a wonderful time of travel and new adventures, but I’m ready to again use my skills to help the small businesses of Opportunity Knocks through this new position. I have always enjoyed the energy and passion of small business owners and this gives me a chance to work with them again. I’ve loved Opportunity Knocks since the day I first joined a team, and the impact Opportunity Knocks has made on so many small businesses and the people that depend on them has been a huge motivator for me.

Stevens was an original member of one of the first six teams when the organization began in 1996.  She later started facilitating a team and continues to do so today.  In 2001, she was named executive director and maintained that position for ten years.

“We’re extremely pleased that Susie has chosen to work with Opportunity Knocks again and look forward to what she will bring to the organization,” commented Shawver.

Opportunity Knocks inspires small business excellence by providing business leaders with the tools to think strategically, solve problems and achieve goals. Members are divided into teams of twelve that meet monthly for three hours to discuss critical business issues. Through these peer-to-peer advisory teams, trusted and lasting relationships are formed that provide each member encouragement, inspiration and direction for their business. Opportunity Knocks also provides learning opportunities including education seminars.
