City Club of Central Oregon Appoints Eli Ashley as 2013 Board President

Ashley follows Don Stevens, who served in this leadership role in 2012.

Ashley brings thirty years of experience working with capital campaigns, challenge grants, public-non-profit partnerships, events, boards, volunteer committees, and building and strategic planning. He has served as executive director of the Tower Theatre Foundation, the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts in Tacoma, Washington, and the Capital Theatre in Yakima, Washington.

Ashley graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington, where he earned a B.A. in business administration and an M.B.A. with a concentration in marketing. Moving from Tacoma, Eli and his wife Dottie relocated to Central Oregon in 2005.

Ashley was an active participant in the City Club of Tacoma and continues to be passionate about community involvement. “City Club forums and members make me feel connected to my community,” said. “I like to know what is going on, the main issues, what is happening in local/state/national/world events and City Club fosters the perfect atmosphere where participative learning can occur.”

Since its origin in 2007, the City Club of Central Oregon has brought the community together in more than 100 forums that explore the most critical topics relating to the region. Through its many varied programs,  City Club is improving the tenor of communication throughout the region, informing the public and inspiring positive change.
