In honor of International Corporate Philanthropy Day, Bend-based real estate company celebrates community giving
In honor of International Corporate Philanthropy Day (ICPD) (yesterday), Brooks Resources Corporation is committed to building awareness of corporate-community partnerships and to inspiring other businesses to engage in philanthropy. ICPD was developed by Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy and is the only international forum of business CEOs and chairs focused exclusively on corporate philanthropy.
“It is our responsibility as private-sector businesses to make a commitment to our community and society through giving, whether it be in volunteer hours, financial donations or sponsorships,” said Mike Hollern, president of Brooks Resources Corporation. “We take this internationally recognized day as an opportunity to share ideas and help communicate the overall benefits and importance of corporate philanthropy.”

New in 2013 is a special contest to get employees even more involved in the corporate giving philosophy at the company. Yesterday, Brooks Resources announced a contest to all employees, who will have until mid-August to research and put together a presentation about his or her non-profit of choice and why the company should vote to support it. Employees will vote on each presentation and Brooks Resources will award $5,000 to the chosen nonprofit organization – on behalf of the employee who presented it to the group.
Hollern continued, “Our employees are vital to the health of the company and the community as a whole. Creating a program that gets them intimately involved in the philanthropic process is good for everyone.”
