Blue Star Naturopathic Clinic has moved to 25 NW Louisiana Avenue in downtown Bend. The clinic owners purchased the building, which formerly housed a women’s clinic, several months prior to provide a more centrally located office that would better service their clients’ needs.
The move coincides with the retirement of the clinic’s founder, Dr. Howard Reingold, N.D. Founded in 1989 by Dr. Reingold, Blue Star has been in Bend longer than any other Naturopathic Clinic. The clinic, in its new location, will operate as a naturopathic general and family practice emphasizing prevention, treatment and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances which encourage the person’s inherent self-healing process, by Drs. Robert Skarperud, N.D., M.S., and Laurie Grisez, N.D., who joined the practice in 2005.
“Howard was completely dedicated to his patients and set a very high standard of care which we strive to uphold,” says Dr. Skarperud. Dr. Skarperud holds a degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Wash. as well as a degree in Nutrition Science from Tufts University in Boston, Mass.
Dr. Grisez is also a graduate of Bastyr University in Seattle, Wash with a degree in Naturopathic Medicine. Drs. Grisez and Skarperud are both Oregon licensed naturopathic physicians and members of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
