The Sustainable Business meetings combine educational and networking opportunities. We aim to support a wide range of professionals – individual business owners, internal sustainability/green team leaders, and corporate social responsibility managers. The group addresses topics that affect the entire economy and welcomes professionals from all industries – construction, manufacturing, the service sector, breweries, etc.
The inclusion of structured and informal networking time in each meeting connects architects and beer producers, sustainability consultants and filmmakers – bringing our community’s deep field of innovators, entrepreneurs, and talented business professionals together.
Education includes formal presentations by industry experts and group discussions surrounding common challenges, best practices, and proven successes. The meetings, facilitated by Moe Carrick and Jim Morris of Moementum, cover topics ranging from reducing your company’s waste production and expense to making the case for alternative energy to CFOs, clients, or even landlords.
The group’s next meeting is a follow up to their series of meetings on energy efficiency. Jesse Morris, a consultant at the Rocky Institute will speak about finance and solar energy. John Low, from Ewing Landscape and Plumbing, will speak on sustainability in commercial water, shifting the focus to the topic of water. Informal presentations and information sharing from attendees will provide and an opportunity to share best practices and questions. All attendees are invited to bring sustainability business questions, inspiration, and opportunities to share with the group.
