Steele Associates Architects announced they are working on the design of a new 65,000 square foot hangar at the Madras Airport for Erickson Group and its related entities.
The hangar will be used for support of one of Erickson subsidiary’s new MD-87 Air Tanker fleet operations. In the future, it will also house one of America’s finest collections of 25 magnificently restored war birds including a P-38 Lightning, F4U-Corsair, P51-Mustang, PBY Catalina and SBD Dauntless dive bomber.
“The hangar will be an exciting and important addition to the Madras Airport and the Central Oregon economy,” said Design Principal Scott Steele. Other project members include CS Construction, Hickman Williams & Associates and Froelich Consulting Engineers. The project is expected to be completed in early 2014.
