Pay What’s in Your Heart at The Newport Ave. Market – Lemon-aid Stand to Help Rescue 18 Million Child Slaves Around The World

Starting August 10, Newport Ave. Market will feature the Make a Stand Lemon-aid.  Make a Stand Lemon-aid did not start out as a product, it started as a promise.

In 2012, an eight-year-old girl named Vivienne from California, made the promise to make our world a better place and inspire people to “make a stand” for what they believe in. Supporting her cause, Newport Ave. Market has purchased a large supply of Make a Stand Lemon-aid and, starting August 10, the famous lemon-aid will be available for a “pay what’s in your heart” donation. Meaning, you pick the price you would like to donate to help the fight against child slavery.

There will be a product demonstration happening in the store on Saturday, August 10 from 10am to 5:30pm. While supplies last, the lemon-aid will also be available for purchase at Newport Ave. Market. 100 percent of proceeds will be donated to Make a Stand, Inc. and they will divide it among five nonprofits, including: Free the Slaves, UNICEF, Nepal Youth Foundation, the International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labor and GEMS: Girls Educational & Mentoring Services.

Help Vivienne and Make a Stand, Inc. make history by ending child slavery, which exists for 18 million children today. The organization has donated over $100,000 to Not For Sale, a non-profit organization whose only mission is to end child slavery, and plans to continue raising funds to assist other organizations that share the same goal.

About Make A Stand, Inc.
Make a Stand Lemon-aid was born in an eight-year-old girl’s heart. Vivienne Harr simply wanted to “make a stand” against something she didn’t know much about; but she knew it was wrong. She had that childlike audacity to believe she could help end child slavery—starting with her lemonade stand. Well, the moment became a movement. People around the world stood with Vivienne and helped her make history by raising over $100,000 for Not For Sale—from that very lemonade stand. Remarkably, Vivienne surpassed her goal…after 173 straight days of selling lemonade. It stunned the world—and redefined what each of us can do. Out of that experience came MAKE A STAND INC, SPC, a for-profit Social Purpose Company, registered in the State of Washington, whose mission it is to end child slavery in our lifetime—one bottle of “lemon-aid” at a time.
