The Cow Creek Community Health and Wellness Center opened its doors to the public on July 18 with a grand opening and dedication ceremony. This 12,035 square foot facility has been planned to meet the growing needs of the Umpqua Tribe of Cow Creek by replacing the 1,680 square foot annex facility, which was housed in temporary unit.
Mark Rossi of Pinnacle Architecture, Inc., the architect for this project said, “Photos just don’t give this project the justice it deserves. An enormous amount of effort and heart was given by the Owner, design team, and contractor to complete this much needed clinic for the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Indians.
”This multi-phase project not only provides a much needed medical facility and will also double as a community gathering space for tribal ceremonies, meetings, recreation, and professional education.
The tribal heritage was woven throughout the interior design of this facility along with these other exceptional design features: clerestory windows for day lighting, upgraded exterior envelope and high efficiency systems, adaptive structure for future expansion, classroom space, conference room, radiology, dedicated pediatric exam wing, behavioral health rooms, administrative offices, and display areas were added for tribal artifacts. Interior materials were carefully chosen to limit the spread of infection.
