Fifth Generation Family Board Member Joins Brooks Resources Board

Brooks Resources Corporation today announced that Colin S. Brooks has joined its board of directors, representing the fifth generation of his family serving on the boards of either Brooks Resources or its former parent company Brooks-Scanlon, Inc. Colin is based in Minneapolis and works for another family company, Sawmill Private Management, Inc., where he manages investments and assists with the financial affairs of the Brooks family and other family clients.

“My hope as a board member is to lend some perspective with the next generation in mind,” said Colin. “Considering that the Brooks family has been in Central Oregon for almost a century, it is personally fascinating to look at how much the area has grown and changed over time. However, to me the more interesting questions center on what the future holds for the people who actually live and work there.”

With roots in the original 1916 Brooks-Scanlon, Inc. that sparked a boom in Bend’s growth for the next half century, Brooks Resources is one of the oldest and most respected real estate developers in the Central Oregon area. Along with the development of premier neighborhoods that meet the needs of a diverse population, Brooks Resources takes special care to conserve natural surroundings around home sites and encourage positive, sustainable community growth.

Colin’s father, Conley Brooks, Jr., and grandfather, Conley Brooks, Sr. are also members of the Brooks Resources Corporation board of directors. Other members include: Mike Hollern (chair), Kirk Schueler, Rod Wendt and Gene Lynch.
