Stage Right Production brings nearly 3,000 to Tower’s Marquee Series.
The Stage Right/2nd Street Theater production of “Monty Python’s Spamalot” set a new record for the most-attended presentation at the Tower in the month of September. The regional premiere of the Tony-winning musical comedy was part of the Tower Theatre Foundation’s Marquee Series showcasing locally-produced community theatre.
Between September 13-21, in six sold-out performances, 2,765 patrons saw the locally-produced show. The previous attendance record was 2,692 over seven performances, set in September 2011 by Cat Call’s production of the blockbuster “Chicago.”
“Spamalot was a wonderful opportunity to assemble some of the most talented actors and musicians in Central Oregon,” said Sandy Klein, Managing Director of Stage Right Productions, the nonprofit that operates 2nd Street Theater. “We are grateful to the Tower Theatre Foundation and U.S. Bank’s Marquee Series for showcasing them, and to the enthusiastic audiences that supported us.”
