Due to the success of the rink last year, the City is hoping to open it earlier this year so that families have an affordable, fun activity to enjoy during the Thanksgiving Holiday week.
The approximately 4,000-square-foot rink will be open to the public seven days a week until the end of March, weather permitting.
There will be free skate hours from 10am to 1:30pm Monday –Thursday and 10am to 12:30pm Friday – Sunday. You must have your own skates and the rink will not be staffed during these times.
The rink will be open with skate rentals available from 3-9pm Monday – Thursday, 2-10pm Friday and Saturday and 2 –9pm on Sunday. The entrance fee will be $1, with rental skates available for another $3. A family rate of $12 is available for persons residing in the same household, up to six people. A reduced rate will be available (75 percent reduction) for qualifying families through the Redmond Area Park and Recreation District’s scholarship program.
The rink will maintain normal operating hours during the holiday weekends. The Redmond Urban Renewal Agency purchased the portable ice skating rink to provide an economical and fun activity for families to enjoy during the winter season as part of the Centennial Park project.
The Redmond Area Park and Recreation District will operate and maintain the facility.“We are excited to bring this amenity to the community to enjoy, and are delighted that it will be open during the holiday season,” enthused Heather Richards, Community Development Director for the City of Redmond, “Let the Fun Begin!”
