New location for Bend tradition – Kiwanis shares location with Boy Scouts Christmas Tree Sales.
The Kiwanis Club of Bend, a mainstay community service organization since 1924 in Bend, will once again be selling See’s Candy as they have for many years.
This year, from November 26 – December 24, they will be selling at the site of the former Backstrom Builders across Third St from the Wagner Mall and the North location of McDonalds. Hours will be 10am – 6pm daily.
Last year their See’s Candy Trailer was located at the Murray & Holt Dealership lot. Most people remember them located for many years at that Safeway lot at Franklin and Third St. The new location, at the corner of Thurston and Third, is also the future relocation of Bend Area Habitat For Humanity’s ReStore.
The Boy Scouts have used the Backstrom Builders site for several years to have their annual Christmas Tree Sale. Both the Kiwanis and the Boy Scouts look forward to sharing the site and believe that there will be a great opportunity for shoppers to do some one stop shopping for Christmas Trees and Candy gifts.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Proceeds from the See’s Candy Fundraiser will go to projects and services focused on children and community right here in Central Oregon.
