In his bid for Deschutes County District Attorney, John Hummel has raised more than $20,000 in cash donations in just three months. That’s more than twice the amount of cash contributions made to the sitting DA during his 2010 campaign.
Hummel says the money will be used to communicate to Deschutes County residents that they can restore good management and judgment to the DA’s office by voting for him on May 20, 2014.
“It’s time to put the tumultuous last three years of the current DA’s administration behind us. This community deserves inclusive leadership that will work collaboratively to solve our public safety concerns. I am the right candidate to lead that effort,” said John Hummel.
While the election is five months away, the Vote Hummel campaign is already attracting broad support from Deschutes County political and business leaders. In addition to receiving bipartisan endorsements from more than 50 major community leaders, John Hummel has received cash contributions from more than 135 individuals.
“I’m gratified to have the support of diverse members of this community, including nurses, doctors, business leaders, city councilors, mayors, retired folks, attorneys, secretaries and brewers. With the backing of this county-wide coalition, we will win this election,” John Hummel said. “Once in office, I will work hard to ensure that every resident of Deschutes County is represented by the District Attorney’s Office.”
The public can track the funding of the Vote Hummel campaign online at the Secretary of State’s website by clicking the “Elections” tab and then the big green “Follow the Money in Orestar” button.
