DeBone Seeks Election to the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners

Deschutes County Commissioner Tony DeBone announced yesterday that he has filed for hissecond term representing Deschutes County. 

Commissioner DeBone has a background in multiple industries including aerospace, biotechnology and alternative energy. DeBone is married to his wife of 19 years, Kathy. They have one son, Michael, who is 14. Together they own a technology support business.

DeBone, became engaged in the leadership of civic and community efforts prior to serving as Deschutes County Commissioner. When he was elected President of the La Pine Park and Recreation District, he said it was through his vision and leadership that the community transformed the district into a healthy and thriving organization that could provide families with access to basic services, programs and opportunities on a consistent and sustainable basis.

Commissioner DeBone said, “I have the experience, knowledge and capacity to meet change head on and make sound decisions while continuing to make a positive economic impact in Central Oregon.” DeBone cites priorities such as providing appropriate government services within a balanced budget, continuing to work on creating more family wage jobs and encouraging a confident business environment. ”He is quick to recognize the challenges we face, as well: “We are surrounded by a vastly more complex, dynamic and competitive marketplace than ever before. Changes in the way we do things will become more and more necessary in order to compete effectively in this new environment.

These changes demand experience and visionary leadership that will help match our community’s needs with available skills and resources. We must continue to build partnerships and adopt realistic strategies that will move our community in the direction it must go in order to transform today’s vision into tomorrow’s reality,” said DeBone.

Commissioner DeBone serves on Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) Board of Directors Executive Committee, NeighborImpact Board of Directors, and Project Wildfire. He also serves on the Association of Oregon Counties Committee on Energy and the Environment and Communications and Technology.”I am proud of the benefits and services provided through the responsible management of our County government and it’s a great honor to represent the people of Deschutes County,” Commissioner DeBone said.
