Heroes Wanted: Red Cross Campaign Calls for Community Superstars

As a kick off to Red Cross Month in March, the Oregon Mountain River Chapterof the American Red Cross will recognize “Everyday Heroes”…nominate your hero by January 14, 2014.

 
Nominations are being sought for community members in Deschutes, Crook, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, and Wheeler Counties in Oregon to be considered as American Red Cross “Everyday Heroes.”Anyone can submit a nomination form for an individual who has saved a life, provided care to someone in need or given back to the community in a significant way. Heroes will be recognized at an award luncheon on March 19, 2014. 

 
WHAT: Red Cross “Everyday Heroes” is an annual campaign to honor neighborswho quietly and profoundly make an impact in their community. The nominees are submitted by the general public and selected by a committee of volunteers. The award luncheon is a Red Cross fundraiser that offers a unique opportunity to recognize these everyday citizens in our community who have made a lasting and positive effect on the lives of others.

DETAILS: “Everyday Hero” nominations are open in six categories: Community Partner, Compassionate Adult, Compassionate Youth, Animal Hero, Military Hero and Life-saving Hero.
