Epicenter Pilates is a fully equipped studio offering private, semi-private and small group classes. There will be an official grand opening for the studio Thursday, January30 from 5:30-8pm.
Enjoy free food, wine and beer to celebrate the occasion. Epicenter Pilates will be offering a ‘one night only’ promotion on all Pilates private, duet and group class packages and demonstrations on the Pilates equipment or even try it out yourself.
The Pilates method is a comprehensive system of over 600 exercises done on a mat and spring loaded equipment. With emphasis on breath, alignment and body awareness, Pilates is a movement discipline that teaches correct body mechanics, builds functional strength and can help reduce or even eliminate pain.
It is meant to help you live your life better. Whether you want to run a marathon, have more energy to play with your kids or rehab an injury, there is a Pilates program for you.
Jessica Swartz, owner of Epicenter Pilates, moved to Bend with her husband in August 2013. She brings 12 years of teaching experience to the community. She received her teaching certification, as well as a master’s teaching certification, from The Pilates Center of Boulder, Colorado.
Her training is rooted in the classic, original work of Joseph Pilates. As the only person in Bend certified by this institution, she offers a different approach than other studios in town. Swartz spent five years teaching at Corebody in Paris, France as a full time instructor and as a mentor for their teacher training program. She has also been an invited guest teacher at studios in Australia, Costa Rica and Lebanon. For the past three years she owned a successful Pilates studio in Eugene, Oregon.
