Opportunity Knocks announced the first in a series of four Best Practices Seminars open to members and the Bend business community.

The first will focus on Operational Finance Optimization. The topic will help businesses learn how to make better financial decisions. Businesses will be able to get answers to questions commonly asked by business owners including:

  • Is profit the best measurement, or is there more to it?
  • Where can we improve our efficiency, reduce waste or save money?

  • Are we pricing our products or services correctly?

  • Are our expenses in line with like businesses so we can remain competitive?

  • Does it make sense to invest in more or better equipment?

  • Do we have the right number of employees?

  • How will new tax law changes affect our business?

A guest panel will provide insights and practical advice. The panel includes Bill Kuhn, VP with Bank of the Cascades, Roger Laubacher, VP of Finance and Administration of Structus Building Technologies, Inc. and Chris Farrens, CPA  of Trimble, Everton, Farrens, and Mode.

”This will be the first of four Best Practices Seminars to be held throughout 2014 to help business owners focus on key areas of their business where they can improve and become better managers,“ said Opportunity Knocks director of membership, Eric Meade.

The event will be held on Thursday, February 20 from 11:30am to 1pm at The DoubleTree at 300 NW Franklin Ave., Bend. Lunch will be served and the cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members.
