Michele Reeves to Present on Building Blocks of Economically Successful Downtowns in Redmond

Michele E. Reeves from Civilis Consultants will be giving a presentation in Redmond on Building Blocks of Economically Successful Downtowns” March 18, 3–4pm at Redmond City Hall, 716 SW Evergreen Avenue. This market-based crash course on revitalization will feature real-world examples of what makes a mixed-use district thrive.  Participants will learn first-hand what stages downtowns go through as they improve, what types of buildings contribute to economic success, and the categories of businesses that can not only survive in an emerging district, but actually bring value and vitality.  

 
“A downtown is a complex ecosystem, and to improve it, you have to understand it.  This presentation will break it down for you, so you can take these building blocks and create your own path to success, starting with small steps as soon as tomorrow,” explained Michele Reeves.
The presentation is free to the public.  Downtown business and property owners are encouraged to attend.  

 
Reeves is an urban strategist with significant private sector experience revitalizing districts.  Her 14 plus years in real estate include working on public/private partnerships, marketing unknown or undesirable districts, pre-development consulting, siting manufacturing facilities, strategizing acquisitions and development with private sector investors, and creating retail leasing plans.

Michele founded Civilis Consultants to assist commercial districts, businesses, and large public sector organizations to recognize and leverage their strengths, accomplish economic development goals, and craft their unique stories to create compelling, multi-faceted brands. Michele has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
