Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon Executive Director Resignation

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon’s Board of Directors accepted Executive Director Lisa Maxwell resignation. Lisa Maxwell has accepted a position in her home state to be close to family and friends. Jim Schell, board president will be covering the executive director duties, until a new executive director is hired.


“I am grateful to the dedicated staff, committed volunteers, board members, generous donors and community partners I have worked alongside the last six years. I cannot thank you enough, for your contributions large and small – your impact has been extremely positive,” states Lisa Maxwell. “It is a rewarding career watching the Club’s doors open to happy children, where kids can be kids.  It is heartwarming to see a place where young people are set on path for a great future.”


Boys & Girls Club of Central Oregon is working with our national organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of America during this change of leadership. Jim Schell, board president will be covering the executive director duties, until a new executive director is hired. Boys &Girls Clubs of Central Oregon is fortunate to have a volunteer member of the Board serving in this short term role during this transition. Schell has a successful career in management and leadership including start up’s and turnarounds such as Opportunity Knocks, City Club of Central Oregon, TEDxBend, Looking Forward and the Humane Society. 


Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon, a United Way partner agency, will continue to be a platform for opportunity and hope for youth who need us the most, in Deschutes County.  The staff and board will continue to maintain our relationships with caring donors and community partners and be an active community organization that assists to enhance the quality of life for many families. Once a new Executive Director is hired, an announcement will be made by the Board of Directors.
