Barnes Butte Elementary School Begins Construction

Construction has begun for the new Barnes Butte Elementary School in Prineville, OR.

When complete by September 2015, the 72,800 square-foot K-5 school will support 700 students in a flexible, personalized and responsive school tailored to the unique elements of their educational program.  

Designed by BLRB Architects, the work encompassed master site planning, educational specifications development, planning and design for this exciting new facility. BLRB’s design team included Mike Gorman, Lee fenton, Jim Landin, Tom Stark, Dustin Locke and Aiden Humphrey.  

Design consultants include: WHPacific, Eclipse Engineering, MFIA, Inc., and Halliday Associates. Groundbreaking for the new school took place on June 2, 2014 at the site of the future facility, while site construction began in April. P&C Construction and CS Construction are jointly serving as general contractor. This project was made possible by tax dollars as voted for in the 2013 Crook County School District bond measurement election.
